Parties are all about having fun. But, behind every exciting celebration is a stressful planning process and tons of tiring preparation. If you want to eliminate anxiety but still host a party for the history books, we’ve got your back here at The Lucky Duck.

Want to Host a Party that Operates Smoothly? Keep these Tips in Mind

Have a Clear Idea of the Theme

It may sound obvious, but you need a clear idea of the reason you’re going to host a party in the first place. Is it a birthday party? A religious event? A themed bash you’re holding just for fun? A concise idea of what you envision your party to be will help you to decide on a venue, décor, food and what to write on your invitations.

Be Prepared

Send out the invitations to your party about three or four weeks in advance so guests have time to RSVP. This will also give you time to set the guest list. Then, create a party “to do” list as early as possible. On that list, include the menu, drinks and approximate quantities of each that you’ll need. If you choose Lucky Duck to cater your event, we offer either half trays or full trays of food so you can order what you need. If you host your party here, we’ll make sure there’s plenty of food for everyone!

Dominate the Décor Game

Decoration is a part of the party planning process that often goes overlooked. Sprucing up your house or party venue with a little ambiance is a subtle way to set the mood of your celebration. If you’re at a loss for décor ideas, you can find plenty of easy, fun DIY guides all over the Internet.

Anthony’s Lucky Duck has been newly renovated with exposed brick walls, colorful barn siding, wood floors and black and white tile in the bar area. This homey, family-friendly atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. However, if you’d like to add a personal touch with some décor of your own, you’re more than welcome!

Get the Guests Involved

A great way to get guests actively involved is to ask them for help with simple tasks. Requesting that people bring a few drinks, appetizers or help you in the kitchen relieves some of the stress that falls on you and also serves as an icebreaker to get people mingling with each other.

Leave Some Room for Error

During the preparation process, you’ll have a lot on your mind. It’s possible that you’ll forget something until party time has almost arrived. If you get most of your preparation done in advance, you’ll be less stressed in the event that something does go wrong. One last-minute emergency is better than several!

Food is the Bread and Butter of Your Party

Keep the Food Simple

Cooking up a dinner for multiple guests puts a lot of pressure on you as the host. Instead of spending hours in the kitchen, having your party catered by a professional is a perfect way to both relieve stress and ensure that your food is delicious. Plus, when your food is catered, all you have to do open up the trays and let your guests serve themselves.
